The lower box of the battery box (i.e. battery tray) bears the weight of the entire battery pack and its own weight, and resists external impacts to protect the battery module and battery cells. It is an important safety structural component for electric vehicles. Due to the fact that the power battery pack accounts for 20% -30% of the vehicle's mass, and the battery box accounts for 20% -30% of the battery pack's mass, lightweight battery boxes are the trend. Under the same size, replacing steel battery boxes with aluminum alloy battery boxes can reduce weight by 20% -30%. Therefore, aluminum alloy material is the mainstream direction of battery boxes. Currently, the upper cover material is mostly high-strength steel and aluminum alloy, and the lower shell is almost entirely aluminum alloy. The trend of lightweight battery boxes is obvious, and aluminum alloy materials are the mainstream market direction.
